Aftermath and Renewal I - 2009
Seeing the devastation of the Victorian fires is horrific and a memory that Im sure many people will chose not to remember. Not wanting to intrude on personnel tragedy, I did not get to see the damage for myself until 6 weeks after the first fires. We have had a small amount of rain in that time, it I was awed at the perseverance and determination of the countryside. This is the river bank I shot the day before the fires \"Riverbank\" I will be putting a number of these shot up, to show that hope and growth.\"Aftermath and Renewal II\" \"Aftermath and Renewal III\" \"Aftermath and Renewal IV\" \"Aftermath and Renewal V\"

Age Old Arguement
When I was taking this shot, I thought I had found a lone person, standing on the side of a rock formation. When I got home, I found the other little guy and noticed the angry faces. Must be one of the longest arguments on records. The addition of the fiery sky lent itself to the words, so I took out the pale blue sky.

I am Quiet
I am quiet, so no one hears my shouts.I am nibble, so no one observes me stumble.I am strong, so no one notices my heavy burdens.I am courageous, so no one feels me tremble in fear.I am solid, so no one watches me fade.I am here, so no.one sees my weeping.

Morning Drive II
Every once in a while, work has us leaving at inhuman times, and as always camera was in the car, but there is no stopping on the freeway but I had to, as it was so magnificent. (and no I wasn't driving). Please note the road is not known for its smoothness and I had forgotten and left the polarizer on and didn't notice in the dull morning light. Out of almost a hundred shots, on the 2 hours trip to work, this is one of a very few that wasn't blurred and I did no manipulation or even cropping on this one. It was an amazing sight

My Afternoon
This afternoon, was nowhere near how I planned it. The Plan was to go home from work early and veg to help get rid of a cold. The fates did not want me to do that. Instead a rush to the city to help a friend in need. But being as the camera was in the car with me (grins) I snapped this one on my way from the car, and before you ask, I was stopped at that red light, so it was safe.

We all bravely go about our tasks, even if they seem hopeless. Who knows. It might actually be the start of somwthing bigger.
Splash and Purple
Taken at Cape Schanck on a mid winter day. I really wanted to get shots of the water spray, managed a couple out of the 100 or so I took. At this section of the beach, the rocks where really a very deep purple and on the camera, they came out with these delightful colours. and I most certainly did NOT do any colour touch ups on this, only exposure.

This was redone from a suggestion. As I had stuffed camera settings on this trip and only had a jpg, not raw data like I normally do, I was unsure as to how it would work out. What do you think?Due to being a bit clueless, camera was set to save as jpg so my normal dngs data was not here and the photos are very small. Wide Focus
Having just gotten a lens hood to try to avoid sun glare and rain drops, I made the classic mistake of not paying attention on wide shots and got a whole series of these, trying to get the wave to come in the way I wanted it to. Being a firm believer of using whatever you come up with, here is it.There have only been very minor exposure adjustments, no cropping, just as I took it.
